I never knew my grandmother as she died
before I was born ...
from all the stories I have heard about her
she was truly a remarkable woman
so loving and so very kind
and never had a bad word to say about anyone
and she was gifted with much beauty ...
Her name was Annie ...
She sounds like she was indeed very wonderful! What a great image of her!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa, I wish I had known her.
DeleteShe is lovely. A New England girl then? I estimate, by fashion, the portrait was made mid-1890s, not much later --an interesting time to come of age. She's part of your genotype now, and your attention honors her.
ReplyDeleteHi Geo .. thank you.
DeleteYes, that was an interesting time to come of age and you are right about the time the portrait was made.
Always so nice to have you visit here and leave a comment , kind sir!
Such a beautiful photo of her. Her kindness was obviously passed onto you.
ReplyDeleteMartha , thank you!
DeleteYour sweet comment brought a smile ..
great photo. reminds me of some we have in the family. unfortunately, I know way too little about the people that came before me.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Petra.
DeleteI wish I knew more about my grandmother Annie but all those that could tell me more about her are now gone.
oh how beautiful she is, it runs in the family, beauty and kindness i have a similar photo of my grandma and grandpa in sepia of course made with texture in a heart form...a little worn out, but maybe I'll show it
ReplyDeleteLorraine , you should post the photo of your grandma grandpa.
